Kolodiy holiday

In the class children learned about the Ukrainian traditions of celebration of the common Slavic holiday – Kolodiy holiday or Maslenitsa. Our still not so distant ancestors called this holiday a holiday of Kolodiy. The sun sets on a new round, bringing spring. Turns out, that this holiday is not only a parting ceremony of winter, but also a holiday of love. Girls made amulets. Boys made a spring tree. Children stringed paper birds and colorful ribbons on the boughs. The birds will see the tree and fly faster, bringing a spring.
